Google Android G1 Phone is the craze these days in the market. It is an mobile with smartphone and is one of the must have phones in the world.
There is a news stating that these phones are also heading to China.
The Chinese version of this Google phone will be in the region sometime in the first quarter of 2009. A source from Dopod China said
“We intend to introduce the G1 to China, possibly in the first quarter of 2009, through a deal with High Tech Computer Corp. (HTC). It will be branded as a Dopod. We are now discussing a partnership with China Mobile,”
Dopod has not said if the G1 Android phone will be EDGE or TD-SCDMA, TD-SCDMA is the only standard 3G technology which is currently used in China. So will we see the Dopod and HTC and Google on the new Chinese version of this phone?
The device is similar in size to the iPhone, but heavier at 158 grams, and has a 3.2in touch-driven display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels.
The user interface looks very clean, with the home screen showing just a clock, a phone dialler, Contacts, Browser, Maps, Gmail and a link to T-Mobile’s Web’n'Walk service.
The T-Mobile G1 has HSDPA up to 7.2Mbit/s and Wi-Fi for fast browsing, and also has built-in GPS supported by the latest version of Google Maps.
